‘For those who leave never to return. For those who return but are never the same. We remember.’

I have exciting news…next Tuesday morning, the children will be going on a geography adventure to St Annes Beach! This is part of our learning about ‘where we live.’ Along the way, we will be spotting human and physical geographical features. We will be going first thing on Tuesday morning and will be back at school well in time for lunch. I kindly ask that children come dressed in their school uniform, wearing suitable shoes for walking in - I suggest wellies. Children should wear a waterproof coat and be wrapped up cosy and warm. I can’t wait to share photos with you, next Friday.

What have we been learning this week?

In Maths this week, the children have wowed me! We have been using part whole models to partition numbers within 10. The children have loved challenging themselves to partition numbers in different ways. We have been saying the STEM sentence: 1 is a part, 4 is a part and 5 is the whole.

In English the children have learned all about nouns and adjectives. They decorated our classroom with post-it notes, labelling nouns and then using adjectives to describe them.

We had our second Kidsafe lesson this week. We learned all about bullying and how this is when a verbal or physical behaviour happens several times on purpose. The children learned how we can say STOP and NO, as well as walking away and talking to a trusted adult. Please find this weeks Parent Letter attached for you to read.

Our worship on Remembrance Day was beautiful. We created a poppy together and used this as the focal point for our reflection. The children looked at a photo of the War Memorial in Ashton Gardens and chose a name from the 300, whose lives were lost. They wrote the fallen soldiers name on a cross and held their name in their hearts, as we had our 2 minute silence of remembrance.

Hip-Hip-Hooray!

Enthusiastic Bobby Bee: For being an enthusiastic learner! Lettie, you have bounced into the classroom every day this week, with a huge smile on your face. It’s been lovely to see you so happy and excited about your learning and the challenges ahead of you that day. Thank you Lettie, for being such a ray of sunshine in our classroom!

Creative Kiki Chameleon: For imaginative ideas and using new words in your writing. Scarlett, your writing this week has been bursting with creativity and adjectives! You are using words to entertain the reader and make your ideas even more exciting. I can’t wait to read what you write next! Well done Scarlett!

  • Reminder that for health and safety, earrings worn to school should be studs only, as per the school uniform policy.

God Bless and have a wonderful weekend,
