Home Learning Year 5 - to be handed in on Friday 3rd December

Reading

The children have spent a little one to one time with me this week - we have gone over their “star Reading progress” and their written comprehension assessments. Everyone listened so carefully to feedback and we all know how to stay on track. I also expressed how proud I am. The classes enthusiasm for reading continues to grow.

Please read everyday

Maths

We have been revisiting column addition. This is a written strategy used when the the numbers involved in the equation are too tricky to add mentally. Please complete B8 and B9 then have a go at FF1 - take care you could do these mentally read the question with care!

Geography - features of a river

I have set you a task in Purple Mash please match the pictures and words - all features of a river. I would be very impressed if you order them which appear in the upper course of the river, which the middle course and which the lower course?

Collecting data/Mapwork

You have two sheets in your homework book. One is a map of the world with nine major rivers. Can you label them correctly?

You also have a table - this is for collecting data about these rivers of the world. You will need to complete this carefully as you will need it for next weeks homework
