Today was a special day, when Year 2 presented their Palm Sunday performance. We hope you enjoyed it. Next week, the junior classes will depict the rest of the Easter story helping the children to journey with Jesus - we all look forward to his triumphant resurrection. Easter is all about new life and in class this week we have witnessed the wonder of hatching eggs. On Monday we received 7 eggs and placed them, with care, in an incubator. Then on Tuesday during the lessons four hatched!!! We were so excited. Then On Wednesday a fifth! Sadly, one of the chicks was too exhausted to to fully hatch and instead of coming to class went to heaven instead. On Thursday we organised a beautiful funeral, which was full of love. We called this little one “Precious” - he was precious in our eyes.
How the help at home:
The chicks have inspired and motivated the children . We have written daily diaries made posters and composed factual text. Freddie has made a factual poster at home and Edward has painted a chicken hatching on a rock. Why not complete a piece of creative work inspired by the chicks at home and bring it back to school!
Magic Moments!
