Spellings on Purple Mash
The children’s spellings this week have been set for them to practise on Purple Mash. This weeks spellings have the er and ir diagraphs. The children will be quizzed (on paper) on five of the spellings below on Thursday, plus a bonus spelling from the previous week .
her term were verb person girl bird shirt first third
A parent has given me some brilliant feedback about spellings. Below is a link to the year 1 spellings page. Following this link will allow your child to practise the weekly spellings as many times as they would like to. All you have to do is select the weekly spellings quiz and have another go at the quiz; I am unable to set the task as a repeated 2do.
Punctuation Practise
The children have a challenge sheet to practice using full stops, question marks and exclamation marks. Please remind the children about the importance of capital letters, finger spaces and letter formation.
A special favor…
As part of their Geography learning, the children will be learning how to write their own address. I would love the children to experience receiving their own special letter in the post, but I must ask for your help with this. Please could your child bring an envelope, which they have written their name and address on, including a postage stamp (any class). The children will need to have brought these in by the end of November, so there is lots of time. I would be so grateful if you could help me with this; I want all of the children to receive some Christmas joy in the post, from a ‘mystery’ class friend. Thank you so much!
Purple Mash and IXL logins can be found in the back of your child’s reading log.
