‘Let all that you do, be done in love.’ - Corinthians 16:14

Another week of adventure here in Reception! This week we travelled to China to celebrate Lunar New Year. We discovered that lots of people in other countries celebrate the new year not just China. We had a look at the flags of all the different countries and noticed the similarities and differences between them. We travelled with the Go Jetters to the Great Wall of China and found our some brilliant facts, as you can see from the pictures below we had lots of fun making our own in the classroom. We decorated our creative corner with bright lanterns, they look fabulous! Watching dragon dances was our favourite thing this week, we enjoyed moving to the beat of the music. Nursery very kindly let us borrow there dragon head so we could have a go doing our own dance.

In Read Write Inc this week we have learnt one new sound ‘ar - start the car’ and recapped all the Set 2 sounds we have learnt so far. This week I have collected in all the flashcards so we can update them ready for half term.

During Maths this week, we have been remembering that the ‘stopping number’ tells us how many we need altogether. Penny the parrot was getting very confused but we were on hand to help! This dragon sequencing game has been popular during choosing time this week, you could have a go at home.

In our PE lesson this week Mr Nay encouraged us to use our fast feet stepping in the spaces on the ladder on the floor, it was really fun! We also had a great time having a dough disco to warm our fingers up before practicing our long ladder letters.
