"Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts"

I cannot fault the effort and determination that the whole class has shown this week. From our English to our maths, from our swimming to our RE and from Art to French. In addition, Abi and Christian led our class council today - they did a fantastic job!

Instead of writing in more detail about our learning journey this week there are a couple of very important pieces of information I need to share:

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

RHE LESSON

Today in our RHE lessons (Relationships and Health Education) we explored what we do to keep safe; What TRUST means and the feelings of being SAD, WORRIED and SCARED. We also explored what our body does when we have these feelings - we called them “yucking feelings”. I have attached a letter here explaining the lesson further for you - your child may want to talk to you. At the end we said that we should never ignore our “yucking feelings” and we should always talk to a trusted adult.

TRIP

Year 5 will going on their first trip. On Monday 4th October, we will be visiting the beach. I have attached a letter here with all the details. The children are excited to be asked to be part of the team looking after our beaches here in St. Annes.

WALKING HOME

Earlier this week a stubbled across a conversation on the playground about walking home from school. I listened and then explained that this was something we could discuss at council. I explained that it is a parental decision to allow child in the upper juniors to walk home. The children had a very open conversation about the dangers they faced and many talked about not being ready. I explained that a parent would have to contact myself via email to confirm any arrangement like this in the future. I also explained that children are not allowed to take siblings as this was one of the questions. Your child may wish to talk to you about this.

TIME TO CELEBRATE

The certificates this week went to Abi and Jessica! Well done!

Madame Jefferson wanted a special mention too for Steph, Isabella, Saul, Jess and Esme who shone in French this week!

Finally Graham our swimming, instructor was bowled over by our sheer resilience and joy at being in the pool. Everyone gave it 100%!

Have lovely weekend form the whole team in Year 5
