Time to be in awe at the vast universe!!! We have started our topic of SPACE. I love this topic! We will be writing about the solar system, explaining why we have day and night and the seasons all- followed by the Science- fiction (sci fi) genre.

This week we have made models of the Solar System - the children should be able to tell you the order of the planets. We have also explored galaxies what they are and their shapes/types. We had fun enacting these galaxies on the playground. On Tuesday, Madam Jefferson returned and she too taught the Solar System -this time in French. In maths we dived into money problems - we have applied our understanding of bar models and then from this deciding what calculation strategies is best to use? Tricky with lots of refection on how we set out work to help our logic reasoning! We have also run around n the freezing cold playing our final Netball tournament (house v house) - that we great fun!

Finally on Friday, we started our new RE topic Inspirational people. Its lovey when family members are mentioned. It has been a shorter week which was nice - even better was everyone’s enthusiasm to learn!

Next Thursday we return to swimming. We have 3 weeks focusing on attaining our 25m or developing our swim technique. Then 2 weeks on survival skills.
