Jesus asks us to love one another as he loved us. This can be so hard to do at times when often we are not feeling loved ourselves. During our RE lessons this week, we have continued to explore the Kingdom of God and how we can create it here on Earth, just as God wanted us to do. This week the children have been creating their very own webpage on this, I can’t wait to read them all. In our worship this week, I asked the children to think about all of the people who they love and how it feels to be loved. The children have been adding hearts to our worship board every time they have felt loved by someone within our classroom.
The week started beautifully with Year 6’s assembly all about leadership, acts of kindness and love. We hope you enjoyed sharing this assembly with us and I am sure you will agree we have many budding actors in our class! I feel like we are very much into the groove of Year 6 learning now, hitting our daily targets constantly. The pace of learning within the classroom has certainly ramped up. Adding and subtracting fractions has continued to be our focus in Maths. The children have now been applying this to word problems and puzzles. The Nowhere Emporium is certainly full of twists and turns, there are so many questions that we need answering. We have now read chapter 1 and we are intrigued to read more to find out what type of magic lies within the emporium. Science has been explorative today, testing out electric circuits, which they have loved!
Harvest Plea
With Harvest time fast approaching, we are looking forward to celebrating as a whole school community once again for the first time since the pandemic. As in previous years, as a school, we will be collecting food items for local food banks. Year 6 are collecting tinned fruit, so please donate if you can, before Friday 14th October. We will be collecting these in class around our worship area.
Helpers in the mornings:

Leading Learners
Kiefer you are such a beacon of light. You treat everyone with such kindness and compassion - no matter who they are. This week you have injured your leg and could not take part in the first football match this week, but you have never moaned, you have got on with it, with that lovely smile! You also still continued to go to your clubs and training sessions, so that you did not miss anything and to support others- what a true ambassador you are!
Arthur it is a pleasure to welcome you to our class family, and it’s as though you have always been here. You inspire us every day with your focus, enthusiasm and pure determination, using every opportunity to learn and asking those all important questions that will move your learning forward, Well done Artur, keep working hard and you will fly!
Kind and compassionate butterflies
We have been on the look out for acts of kindness and compassion this week. Pure love and kindness has been shown in abundance this week. It definitely makes our classroom a happier and a richer place for it. Thank you to India, Christian and Isabella. There have been so many times this week when you have gone out of your way to help someone in class. Thank you for all that you do!
