This week’s home learning is in the children’s home learning books.

In science we have been looking at food chains - please complete the 3 food chains in your home learning book. I wonder if you can remember what the words herbivore, carnivore and omnivore mean?

In maths we have been using a website called numbots - you will find your log in and a letter at the from of your home learning book.

Can you split a page in your book and sort the maths problems into true and false?

Year 2 Home Learning 3rd March

This week’s home learning is in the children’s home learning books.

Next week we will be continuing to read our class novel Flat Stanley. The children have made their own Flat Stanleys to bring home for an adventure. The children will be writing about their adventure, in the first person - as if they were Flat Stanley. Encourage them to think about their senses when writing - what did Flat Stanley see, hear, smell, taste and touch?

In maths we have been practicing our 2 times table - please complete the activity in home leaning book.

This week we have been learning about consecutive number in maths, please complete the activity in your home learning book on number before and after.

In the next couple of weeks, we’re really going to focus on sentences and how we can improve them to make our writing even better. This week in your home learning book there is a piece of text with no punctuation! Please read this text out loud this will help you ‘hear’ where the punctuation should go, before editing adding capital letters an full stops.

There’s also a little spelling activity in your books to help you with this weeks spelling rule - doubling the consonant before adding ‘er’ or ‘est’
