PART 3 - HEALTH AND HAPPINESS WEEK - June 5th Learning together

Good morning everyone and welcome to our final set of tasks for Health and Happiness week. Today is all about STAYING ACTIVE! There are so many studies that link regular exercise to emotional well being as well as a healthy body. Moving helps our minds- feel happier when we move!

CHALLENGE 1 - WAKE UP!

For those of us without a garden staying active over the past 10 weeks has been tricky. We are going to start with exercises that can be done inside. Our first port of call today is the NHS Change4life website! Here you will find many 10 minute wake up games! You will need music ready to go!

Another exercise that can we done indoors is Yoga! On Monday we had a “gratitude Yoga” challenge today we have posted two video links. This is screen time with a difference you have to move too! Cosmic Yoga for kids in perfect if you are little (Reception, Year 1 or Year 2) and Yoga for Kids is perfect if you are in Year 3 and above- this is a lovely video as the teacher has children with her just like you! FINAL CHALLENGE - Lancashire Libraries and the C19 archive collection:

“Help to create a new collection so that future generations understand the effect of COVID 19 on everyday life in Lancashire. You can write it down, draw, make a sound recording or short video recording or take photographs about what has changed and how you feel about it. Your written experience could be a daily diary, about a single day or event or a poem. Or you might record, video or photograph what life has been like at home, work or where you live. Contributions are welcome from all ages including children. Please make sure that you have the permission of anyone who might be identified in the images.” LCC

These events are historical in nature a time when things changed. We can all be part of recording it for generations in the future! Your work could appear in a classroom in 20 years from now! Below is a link to the archive page where you will find more information and the email address for your contributions.

Take care- see some of you next week in school! The teacher will continue to post lessons everyday virtually so we can keep learning together until we can all return to school!
