Well done children for getting on with your work this week from home, it has been super to see how busy you have been and how much work you have done. We are so proud of you! Well done to all of you who have reached your reading targets this week. Thank you also to all of our lovely parents who have supported the children this week too. You are AMAZING too!
Well, what a year it has been! It hasn’t been what we would normally expect, but that hasn’t stopped the children from learning and being determined to succeed. We are so proud of you all, you have been INCREDIBLE!
The Year 3 team have absolutely loved teaching the children this year and we have thoroughly enjoyed sharing so much together. We would all like to thank the children for being such wonderful members of the class and also all of you parents for the support that you have given us and the children throughout the year. What a team we have made!
It has been wonderful to be part of your child’s learning journey this year and to watch them grow on a daily basis. They have been such a loving and caring class and always ready to see the good in every situation. We have had so much fun together and we hope that you will enjoy the videos that we have put together to celebrate the year, but first some photos from this week.
Enjoy watching.
As you know we are saying ”Goodbye “ to Alexander and his family as they are moving away. We would just like to wish them all lots of love and happiness as they move on to pastures new. You have been wonderful this year Alexander. You are such a kind friend and a lovely member of our class, we will all miss you, but we know that you will soon make lots of new friends when you move to your new school. Please do remember us and keep in touch, we would love to hear how you are getting on.
If you have any spare time during the holidays and would like to keep that love of learning ticking over and make sure that you are ready to start Year 4, head over to the home learning section of our class web page. There you will find a range of activities to have a go at in preparation for Year 4.
Keep a look out on the Year 4 page on Tuesday, as there will be a little message from Mrs Lyons explaining all about what to expect in September.
Children return to school on Thursday 2nd September. Please see Miss Hornby’s blog for changes in staggered times and house teams.
Once again can we say a huge “Thank you” for all of your support this year. We have loved teaching your children, they are wonderful. We hope that everyone has a fantastic summer holiday and that you have time to recharge your batteries and spend some time together as a family having fun.
Take care and stay safe
Lots of love The Year 3 Team (Miss Brisco, Miss Edmondson and Miss Woodrow)

I can’t quite believe that I am writing the final blog of the year … and what a year it’s been! So many challenges have been thrown our way and so many obstacles have been overcome, but through it all, the children have been truly AMAZING! They have taken everything in their stride, have continued to smile, and my goodness, the progress they have continued to make has been astounding.

It's party time!!
Such a fun week, culminating with our end of year party on Thursday.
Everyone joined in with the party games, we played musical chairs, statues and bumps, did the conga around the garden, played I wrote a letter to my friend all to some very loud music (Mrs. Gregan set up the loud speakers for us). We chose all our favourite music to play!
I must say we have some fabulous dancers!
We finished the morning with fish and chips (kindly donated St. Annes Fish Restaurant). They were sooo yummy that some the children had seconds and third helpings. We then had ice lollies for after’s. A perfect lunch don’t you think!
In the afternoon we watched the Year 6 production of the Wizard if Oz. As expected it was superb. We spotted lots of budding performers.
Take a look at our party photos.
As always we are sad to see the children leave nursery, but we are certain they will have a have an equally wonderful year in their Reception class.
It has been such a privilege, during such a difficult and unknown time, for you to have entrusted your most precious child into our care. It shows us how much to have trusted us to both keep the children safe and to get them ready for the next stage of their learning journey. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We will miss you all so very much but we hope you will keep a little piece of nursery safe in your heart forever.
We will see some of you in September but for those of our families who are moving to pastures new, remember you will have left your mark at Our Lady’s Nursery so you belong to us! Please keep in touch.
Please do keep safe and well this summer.
God Bless
Barbara, Clare, Colette, Frances and Hannah

Good morning Year 3. We hope that you are still smiling. We certainly are! The work you have produced this week has been great, thank you for your emails and photos they have kept our class family in touch.
Well, we have come to the end of our year together and this would be our final day in Year 3.
We have got 3 people to celebrate this morning - Max has reached 100% of his reading target. Well done Max.What a star! Matilda has reached more than 200% of her reading target - amazing Matilda! Millie has reached over 400% of her reading target by finishing her Harry Potter book. WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! Well done Millie. Well done to all of you. (Maybe you could all draw yourself your bird points - well done. What a star you all are!!)
Children, don’t forget to keep reading as much as you can during the holidays. It is a good way to go off on an adventure, you can go anywhere in a book!
We hope that you will all join us on our final Zoom meeting of the year at 9:30am today (Friday 16th July). Details of the Zoom were sent on Wednesday - they are also the same as they were for Tuesday. We are so looking forward to seeing you all and having a reflection on the year. Before you join the Zoom meeting please have a little think about what you have enjoyed this year and what you think you have got better at. We will then share and celebrate all of our thoughts and ideas. (Or at least some of them - we might not be able to share EVERYTHING that we have enjoyed and got better at this year, we could be there for the whole of the summer holidays!!!! Everyone will get a chance to share at least 1 thing though).
We would then like you to do just one more thing today and that is to think about what your hopes are for Year 4. What do you hope to get better at? What do you hope will happen in Year 4? What do you hope you will enjoy? etc. I have set a 2Do for you to do this on Purple Mash. Don’t forget to save it and submit it so that we can see what you hope for. Thank you.
See you on the Zoom. xxx

We may not have been able to visit the theatre but Shakespeare has been alive and kicking in Year 5. Enjoy our recreations of Act 2 scene 2 of Midsummer Night’s Dream! Fairies are criminal?

Good morning everyone.
I hope that you are smiling and wide awake so that you can get going on today’s work.
Remember to take some time to sit quietly and read today. Can you finish your book and reach your target? Some children are so close they could probably get there with just one or two quizzes. Good luck and enjoy.
Maths
Today our maths is all about units of time. Watch the video below and see how much you can learn. I have set you some 2Do to do on Purple Mash too.
Don’t forget to keep practising telling the time as often as you can because the more you practise the better you will become. (I’m sure that you could even do this all through the holidays to get really, really good at it!)
English
Today I would like you all to have a read through your The Spider and the Fly stories and edit them carefully. You might have forgotten some punctuation, made a spelling error or you might read a sentence and realise that it does not quite make sense. You might even just want to improve some of your vocabulary. Thank you.
Then I want you to watch my little video all about spelling and complete the 2Dos that I have set for you on Purple Mash.
History
Today you are going to find out about Boudica, the brave queen of the Iceni tribe. Please watch the video below and when requested please click on the links below.
We hope that you enjoyed your learning today.
Tomorrow we have a few activities to complete and our Zoom meeting too. We hope that you can all join us to finish off the end of our lovely school year together.
Take care and stay safe xx
Year 3 Remote Learning Wednesday 14th July 2021
Good morning everyone.
How are you feeling today? I hope that you are full of energy and ready for another fun filled day of learning.
Mrs Lyons had a lovely Zoom meeting with you yesterday and she was really impressed with your super questions and everything that you wanted to share. She can’t wait to teach you all in September and is so excited about all of the wonderful things that you are going to be doing together. Well done. I hope that you enjoyed it too.
Well done to Angel who reached his 100% reading target on Monday (Sorry Angel I only spotted it yesterday) and Evan who reached his 100% reading target yesterday. Maybe you could make yourselves some birds to celebrate. I have reset your targets and you can keep trying during this week and over the holidays. I also spotted that some other children are getting really close to their 100% target, so maybe they could also reach their targets before Friday. (Franek and Molly-Ann you are both soooooo close!)
Don’t forget to keep reading children and trying to reach your targets. Why not find yourself a comfy place to read today and see if you can finish your book and quiz on it? Enjoy.
Maths
We are going to be looking at telling the time again today. You have been brilliant with this so far this week, so I know that you are going to keep up the good work and be brilliant again today. Make sure that you watch the video carefully and then you can have a go at the sheets and the game. I have set you a 2Do on Purple Mash. Don’t forget to save your work and then submit it so that I can mark it for you.
English
We are going to write the next part of our Spider and the Fly story today, so I hope that you are ready to think about what you are going to write.
Make sure that you watch my video first and then you can write the next part of your story.
I have set you another 2Do so that you can write the next part of the story but make sure that you recap and read the first part of your story so that you know where you are up to.
Music and Massage
Each Wednesday Miss Mallinson or more recently Miss Woodrow, teach massage and music with the children, let’s start your learning off with your massage. I’m sure you will be able to find a willing participant who needs a bit of relaxation time. Turn off the lights and create a quiet space to focus the mind and body. Click below for either the Powerpoint or PDF versions of the massage activities. Enjoy!
Watch my video below to see what your music task is today. Have fun! Don’t forget to save and hand them in so I can have a listen.
We hope that you all have a lovely day children.
Don’t forget to save all your work and submit it so we can see how you get on.
See you tomorrow.
Take care and stay safe x
