We love to take lots of photographs to capture all of those magic moments- as you can see there is rather a lot, but just look at all of their faces! They really are having the BEST time!
Water Parks Day 3
Another beautiful day - continuing on our adventures! We had visitors ! Miss Hornby, Mrs Gregan and baby Elsie came to watch and cheer us on !

What an amazing day we have all had! After a surprisingly calm and restful night’s sleep, the children were up and ready to go this morning. We have been so proud of how all the children have eased in to their new routines and embraced every opportunity they have been given. There has been incredible team work, acts of bravery and a steely determination to try new activities.
To make the day even greater, it is Adam’s birthday and what an unforgettable day it has been! We have made sure throughout the day he got all the ‘birthday boy’ preferential treatments from being first up the magic ladder to leading his team up the ghyll (even ‘seconds’ at dinner time). After dinner, we all gathered together to sing for the third time today ‘Happy Birthday’ and celebrated with this magnificent cake, that we can’t wait to tuck in to as our evening snack!
Mrs Harrison and Mr Nay’s group today, enjoyed a lovely canoe across the lake to do a spot of climbing up a rock face. Then this afternoon, we had wind surfing on the lake- the children were fabulous at this!
Mrs Mather’s group had a wonderful walk up the ghyll this morning and then in the afternoon faced their fears on the ‘leap of faith’ challenge and balancing on top of poles.
Mrs Webster’s group this morning completed the high ropes challenge and climbing and then had a very wet walk up the ghyll this afternoon.
We really could not ask any more of these children, they are giving everything such a good go, but most importantly working as a team and really looking after to one another.
What a pleasure they are to take away! They will most definitely sleep well tonight after such an active day!
Water Parks Day 1
We have arrived and we couldn’t have got off to a better start. After a very excited lunch, the clouds parted and the sun shone ready for our afternoon activities.
Mrs Harrison and Mr Nay’s group were up to their knees in the ghyll and it wasn’t long before we were all bobbing about laughing in the water and pushing our heads under the waterfall.
Mrs Mather’s group had a much more relaxing afternoon, gently canoeing back and forth across the lake.
Mrs Webster’s group mastered the art of sailing this afternoon, but the biggest thrill was most definitely jumping off the Jetty in the late afternoon sunshine. You may have heard the squeals of delight all the way back in St Anne’s.
We think everyone will sleep well tonight, ready for another fun day tomorrow.

In our worship sessions this week we have been listening to God’s voice, Jesus’ voice and the Holy Spirit’s voice in various ways; such as through bible readings, meditation and silence.
We have had a very hard-working week in Year 4. This week, we have been planning and writing our own story based on our learned story: ‘The King of the Wild Horses.’ These have been really stunning and children are applying all skills they have learned in year 4 to really fantastic effect.
We have also been enjoying using Viking myths to practise our reading skills. Children have been reading about Thor, Loki and the other beings in the Norse Cosmos and their many sagas.
We have had a little go at our official times tables test this week, to see how fast it will be. We will be practising this for a few more weeks, until the actual test in June.
In maths, we have been dividing much larger numbers this week using a method called chunking. Children have learned to chunk numbers in the most efficient way to solve the calculation.
RHE
This week, in RHE we have been learning about behaviours: risky, unacceptable, unhealthy and ok. We have looked at situations where our emotions could over-run and lead us to behave in the wrong way. We have been learning ways to be resilient to negative emotions and one way is through thankfulness. We have role-played situations where we stop ourselves doing the wrong thing and remind ourselves of something nice that person has done for us. This helps build emotional resilience so we are not always at the mercy of our emotions.
Let’s Celebrate!
This week, our certificate winners are:
Anncia who received a Lizzie Ladybird certificate for being such an excellent listener and a reflective learner who thrives on feedback.
Jay who received a Cooper Crab certificate for absolute focus and drive to write a super story . Your concentration and effort is growing stronger and stronger by the day.
Music stars this week were Daisy and Franek

A Picnic for the queen!
Just a little reminder that on June 8th we are celebrating in style with a Red White and Blue Day. At lunch time we will enjoy a whole school picnic outside on the field (let’s pray for a sunny day!). Jacqui, our school cook, has ordered special lunchboxes which will be filled with a picnic feast. If your child already has school lunches, you need to do nothing. However, if your child normally brings their own packed lunch, you can order a special picnic box by pressing here and completing a form. This must be paid for in advance on ParentPay at a cost of £2.35. Forms need to be completed by 8pm on Friday 13th May.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. It is hard to believe there is only one week until the final half term!

This week has been a little different. It has been a ‘getting to know you week’ with Reception! We have had great fun learning and playing alongside the Reception children and teachers. Everyone loved getting to know each other and made lots of new friends. We read the story ‘Colour Monster goes to school’. Click here to listen.
Sports Day this year starts our Health and Happiness week in school. It is being held on Monday 13th June at 1.45 - 2.45 pm. We are happy to tell you that parents are invited to this event as well as all the children. However, if it is not your usual session we ask that you collect your child from the nursery entrance after the event has finished.
Our experiment form last week had some success, our white roses which we put in the blue water turned blue, the flower with water of course died as did the flower we put in milk. Sadly the flowers in the green water and red water also died! Mmmm we couldn’t fathom why. We are going to run the experiment again after the holidays
Meaningful May
Here is a monthly calendar with a happiness challenge for you all to do every day during May. Look our for Joyful June!
Key person blog
The children have had a marvellous week at nursery, we have spent every morning on the school field enjoying lots of different activities like obstacle courses, football, den building, cloud gazing, skittles, construction and lots lots more.
This week we have been practising our fundamental movement skills in readiness for Sports Day. We have also nearly finished our sports day T-shirt’s with our own designs. We are going to look so fabulous. There are still a few children who don't yet have their T-shirt to decorate. We don’t want any child to miss out so please make sure you send in a named plain white T-shirt, it doesn’t have to be new. We must say they are all looking splendid!!
Here are some physical activities for you tp try at home. Click here.
We have also learnt about baby animals, they all have different names, there are a lot to remember. This song helps us remember. Click here
Here is a jigsaw game you may want to do too. Click here
We have also been looking at shapes in the environment. We decided to make giant shapes using our bodies. The children made a giant triangle, a giant circle, and then a giant square.
Music is always a popular activity at nursery so along with the Reception children we had a outdoor music session on the field. Colette played her guitar to help us keep in tune! We've also enjoyed lots of singing circle games, at one point there was nearly sixty children in our circle! That was great fun!
Snack in the mornings have been al fresco picnics. We made a giant fairy ring on the field using huge bobbins as seats.
I think we are all in need of a rest after our busy week!

Worship
An exciting week! Nursery was invited to join in KS1 assembly in the hall. We were so proud of them. Everyone sat beautifully and joined in all the singing and prayers. Miss Hornby told us the story of why Jesus is called the ‘Good Shepherd’ and how he takes care of us all just like a shepherd looks after his sheep. She explained that whenever we feel lost or scared, we should ask for Jesus’ help. He always listens and will show us the way.
In chapel this week we read the story of Noah’s Ark. We discussed how God was sad that people were not looking after our wonderful earth, that’s why he sent the floods. When we got back to nursery we got our huge Noah’s Ark out and marched the animals in two by two. Click here to listen to the story of Noah’s Ark.
Our singing in the chapel is so beautiful (and loud). We now know so many beautiful songs and its so uplifting hearing all their angelic voices.
May I remind everyone that Our Jubilee Afternoon Tea is next Friday 2-3.30pm. You will need to send a plate of name food in (one sandwich cut into bitesize pieces, one small celebratory bun and one packet of crisps). Everyone is to come dressed in red, white and blue!
If you can recall about five weeks ago we wrote a letter and drew some pictures to send to Her Majesty The Queen…guess what…we have had reply! Sadly she in unable to attend our afternoon tea party but she send her best wishes. We are all (especially me) sooooooo very excited. Take a look at these fabulous pictures.
Finally, because I can’t top a letter from the Queen, I would just like to say have a lovely weekend, I believe it is going to be sunny and I will see you all on Monday.

WOW - what a busy week it’s been! This week has been a slightly different one due to the Year 6 SATS taking place in the hall, which has meant that we have partnered up with Year 1 for some of our morning learning. From building to problem solving, story making to lots of PE out on the field, the children have absolutely loved it and have coped so well with the changes to our timetable.
