Read moreWelcoming our New Councillors
What excitement this week for our new class councillors when they had a surprise visit during their lessons from Miss Hornby and Mrs Webster (who were wearing masks) to present them with their smart councillor badges. Everyone looked proud and confident as they received the badges, together with a huge round of congratulatory applause from their classmates.
Despite these extraordinary times, councillors are putting their heads together with their classes and thinking of a project they can achieve within their classes, to help enrich our school family with generosity and gratefulness - there are so many possibilities.
Although our meetings may now have to take place remotely we have great hope for the year ahead.
Here are some of the things our councillors said they were looking forward to:
‘ I want to make the school an even happier place.’
‘ I am looking forward to helping my classmates.’
‘ I am looking forward to asking lots of questions.’
‘ I want to help guide people to make the right choices.’
‘ I hope to keep the school community full of friendship.’
‘I just want to look after everyone.’
We are all looking forward to working together.

I can’t believe how quick the weeks are flying by and spending time with the children at lunchtimes are one of the many highlights of the lunchtime teams day.

Week Five
Another fantastic week of learning, laughter and togetherness. With the weather a little temperamental this week, most of us managed to get our precious playtimes outside, hopefully this will continue into next week.

As there are no Art Clubs at the moment and the children love bringing me their home art, I thought the ART CLUB page could become the HOME GALLERY page and could showcase all the fabulous art sent to me via email. I will upload the photos to this page each week. To feature send me your art photos (you included or not, up to you) to me at r.curtis@ourladystarofthesea.lancs.sch.uk

Art News… Week Three.
And just like that we have completed three weeks of school. We are so settled in our new ‘normal’ that it is now just our normal routine. The children are fabulous ‘bug busters’ with great hygiene routines and are remembering to treat everyone with an extra bit of kindness.

Read moreTikTok - Urgent update regarding the safety on the site
It has been brought to our attention that there has been some serious safe guarding incidents on TikTok during this past week. We are aware that a number of our pupils access the social media site and as a community, we need to ensure the safety of our pupils at all times. Tiktok has been trying to remove graphic and harmful videos that have been circulating the site. If these videos are seen, it would cause any viewer distress.

Final Week of ART Home Learning

I can’t believe we are at the end of our school year already. The last sixteen weeks have been very strange for all of us, but as a true school community, we have pulled together and tried our best. I have enjoyed setting art activities that could be adapted by everyone at home, depending on what we had to hand. I’ve been blown away by the art sent to me and have loved getting to know your families better as emails were exchanged. These are the final art activities of the school year, I hope you’ll enjoy them…
